The first time I got 30 minutes alone after my son was born, I pruned bushes because I just couldn't figure out what to do. Blogging about motherhood means I'm writing more than I ever have. I'd recommend it. And read about writing: Making a Literary Life by Carolyn See, The Opposite of Fate: Memories of a Writing Life by Amy Tan. Just in case you didn't have enouggh to put on your list.

Excellent advice, thank you.

I have two younguns and virtually no time to myself. When these moments arise my head begins to spin. Should I read about writing? Read for enrichment and to fill the well? Blog? Try my hand at poetry? Map out a novel?

I usually freak out and end up in front of the television watching Criminal Minds reruns and shoving toast in my face.

A LIST is a fabulous idea. 10 minute ideas, half-hour ideas, etc. Thanks!

Great advice, Sonya. I haven’t done such a list for awhile…need to. I also have multiple projects going so getting a clue about my goals would be a good thing. Don’t get me wrong, I have goals; I just haven’t revised them lately.
